Six Drawing Series 2006

The six works on paper in this series were done by multiple folding and pressings using both Sumi ink and India ink in small areas to build-up the final image.  The process of making them was intended to be a balance of accident and intent regarding the image. Each stage of the process involved both curation (my selection) and unanticipated action of the inks. The binary concept underlies the series and relates to notions of resolutions of dualities. These works on paper led to the Biformities series of wall sculptures included in this exhibit.
